In a quick Q&A with our Chef, Gordon, we asked him what his must-have wine from Wildekrans is for this winter, and some foodie inspiration for pairing. This is what he had to say:-

“Wildekrans Deep Purple, definitely. This lovely red blend is a very approachable and versatile wine. I enjoy this wine with lots of different meals. Any type of Game bird or Poultry pairs wonderfully with the Deep Purple – but the wine pairs just as well with Steak, Fresh Fish with Chorizo, Chargrilled Lamb Cutlets, and any type of Rustic Stew.

My Favourite Combination for this wine is slowly simmered Coq au Vin with Crispy Pancetta, Shitake Mushroom, Roast Garlic & Red Onion, and Glazed Root Vegetables. (Of course accompanied by a Creamy Potato Puree, Dijon Mustard, and countless refills of Wildekrans Deep Purple!). Bring on winter, we are ready for you!”
