• Wildekrans receives two Double Golds at The Michelangelo Awards

The results of the 24th Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards were announced via an online function on Friday 2nd October at 16h00.

With over 1500 entries this year, and a total of 615 awards presented, this competition is an important benchmark for producers targeting international markets to determine how their wines will be received abroad, and locally. The panel of judges are hand-picked wine experts representing all 7 continents and entries are judged blind.

We received the wonderful news that two of our wines were awarded Double Gold medals this year:-

We are most grateful for this recognition.

  • Gold Medals at Monde Selection Wine, Brussels

It is with much excitement that we can announce that our 2016 Pinotage Barrel Select Reserve, and our 2016 Cape Blend Barrel Select Reserve both received Gold Quality Medals by the professional jury of Monde Selection Wine in Brussels.

“Monde Selection Wines recognises the quality of wines and promotes the work of their producers.
The competition is well-known for its rigor and the technicality of its evaluations.” – via https://www.wine-contest.eu/wine-contest-2020/

Well done to our winemaker and his team!

  • Big ‘GEES’ for Wines2Whales

We absolutely love it when it’s Wines2Whales time, and everyone gets a chance to get on their bikes and try the trails, or simply just support and cheer. This year, the very aptly named Pinotage leg passed through Wildekrans, and the theme for the leg was #SeriousGEES (serious festive atmosphere, fun). We certainly gave the theme our all at our ‘water’ point, with wine-tasting and our staff getting wholeheartedly into the spirit!

If you want to see what GEES actually is (as the English translation of this Afrikaans word simply does not do it justice), then take a look at this fabulous video clip, kindly created by Bigshot Media.

Thank you to all the supporters, riders and sponsors for such a great event, and well done to everyone who took part – on or off the saddle.

    Silver: MCC Chenin Blanc 2015
